SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH

"If I Could I'd Get Out" was the first track released from Joseph Arthur's album 'Days of Surrender' (Lonely Astronaut Records, 2015). A video for the track was published on YouTube in April 2015 as a teaser preview for the album.

Recorded in Long Beach, California, the video was both shot and edited by Joseph himself. The storyline involves a plot to steal Joseph's records back from the Fingerprints Music store and Joseph's long-time friends Y (musician/actor) and Rand Foster (founder of Fingerprints) take the starring roles along with a cockroach! Fingerprints is famous for its intimate In-store events and has hosted many performances by Joseph over the years, with his first being in July 2000.

While official lyrics haven't been issued for the album, below is my unofficial attempt at the lyrics for this song

If I Could I’d Get Out

I could creep
On the wall
In the dark
I might fall

If I could I'd get out
If I could I'd get out

If I could I'd get out
If I could I'd get out

On the floor
By your feet
Death's a dance
Its steps missing me (its steps missing me)

If I could I'd get out
If I could I'd get out

If I could I'd get out
If I could I'd get out
